The Bible is the very Word of God - divinely inspired, inerrant, and authoritative for faith and life (John 10:35; 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21).
God is One in Three Persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, eternal and perfect (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
Jesus is our Savior and Lord - fully God and fully man, crucified for our sins, risen from the dead, and reigning forever (John 1:1-3, 14; Romans 5:8; Matthew 28:6,18).
Salvation is by Grace through Faith Alone - not earned by works but is received through repentance and faith in Christ alone (Mark 1:15; Ephesians 2:8-9).
Our Mission is the Great Commission - every believer is called to spread, defend, and do the Gospel (Matthew 28:19-20; 1 Peter 3:15; James 1:22).
The Return of Christ - Jesus will return to earth personally and visibly to judge the world and establish His eternal Kingdom (Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 1:7; Acts 17:31; Luke 1:3).
We affirm the Baptist Faith & Message (2000).
Hello. My name is Parker Howard, and it is my great privilege to serve as pastor of First Baptist Church in Eureka Springs. I’m truly grateful for the support of my wife, Carolyn, and our children, Jack and Sally, as we walk together in faith and serve the Lord alongside this wonderful congregation.
The Bible calls for pastors in the local church to exalt Jesus Christ (Colossians 1:18), proclaim His Word without compromise (2 Timothy 4:2), and shepherd His people with conviction and compassion (1 Pet. 5:2-3).
My sincerest desire is to preach the whole counsel of God (Acts 20:27), equip believers for the work of ministry (Ephesians 4:11-12), and see lives transformed by the power of the gospel (Rom. 1:16).
In a world filled with shifting opinions and shallow substitutes for truth (Ephesians 4:14), we stand firmly on the unchanging foundation of Scripture: God-breathed, Christ-centered, and sufficient for all of life (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
Come join us as we worship the risen Christ, and as we seek to learn (2 Timothy 2:15), spread (Matthew 28:19-20), defend (1 Peter 3:15), and do (James 1:22) the Word of God, all while looking with hope to the day of Jesus' return (Titus 2:13).
My name is Matt Mahan, and it is my honor to serve as Associate Pastor at First Baptist Church in Eureka Springs. My wife, Morgan, and I are blessed with two children, Brody and Brennan, and we are grateful to be part of such a loving church family.
I studied at Mississippi State University and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, where God shaped my heart for ministry and strengthened my love for His Word. I began serving at FBC Eureka Springs in 2025, and every day I am reminded what a joy it is to help others grow in their faith and walk closely with Jesus Christ.
My passion is to see lives changed by God’s Word, leading believers to live out the Great Commandments—to love God and love others (Matthew 22:36–40)—and to obey Jesus’ call for all Christians to make disciples who make disciples (Matthew 28:18–20).
We look forward to having you join us at FBC Eureka Springs.
